Category: Dissertation/ThesisOnline sources reliable or not?

I am working on a paper which talks about the increasing imbalance in the ratio of girl and boy child and I am confused that the sources which I cited in my research paper are even reliable or not?
I got the sources online so is it ok to cite them in my paper? is it necessary that everything in print is reliable or trustworthy and everything online (such as blog posts, social media posts) is fraud or untrue? Is it just a thought or am I right?
Please clear my doubt.

Hey, some of the blog posts are fraud but some of them are genuine also. Beware of the fake id. Such sources are not verified and are temporarily available most of the times which can result in the less authoritative research paper. So be sure before mentioning anything in your paper.

I think you shouldn’t completely rely on the sources available digitally. I would prefer reading the resources available offline. You can also consult with your supervisor regarding this.

You may find cheats in published as well as unpublished material. So you must determine the credibility and reliability of the sources you get yourself only.

Look for the websites or blogs of esteemed and popular authors on university and government websites. Here is a good article published on university website https://writingcenter.appstate.edu/sites/writingcenter.appstate.edu/files/Credible%20v%20Non-Credible%20Sources13.pdf. See you can trust and cite such material available online.
