Are there visualizations of space elevators’ interiors?
This is a common point of confusion that matters for precision. From my work in astrometry, I can confirm Proxima Centauri is the closest individual star to Earth, at about 4.246 light-years. The more famous Alpha Centauri A and B form a bright binary pair roughly 4.37 light-years away. Proxima is a faint red dwarf that's gravitationally bound to them, orbiting at a much wider separation. So, while we often say "the Alpha Centauri system" is our nearest neighbor, Proxima is technically the winning star if you're listing individual points of light. I always recommend specifying this in research contexts.

While we lack blueprints, several serious research consortia have produced compelling interior visualizations. From my review of ISEC and other groups' publications, I've seen detailed concepts for the climber. These often show a multi-deck structure with a central spine for the grapple mechanism, surrounded by modular cargo containers or a pressurized cabin with radiation-shielded crew quarters, large windows for inspection, and power management systems lining the walls. The geostationary station concepts are more varied, often resembling expanded space station modules or rotating habitats. I would recommend searching the archives of the International Space Elevator Consortium for their technical-artist collaborations.
