Centralized vs. Decentralized: A Security Mindset Shift

How is the security philosophy behind blockchain fundamentally different from the way we've secured traditional IT networks for decades?

It's a complete paradigm shift. Traditional security is like a castle: build strong walls (firewalls), guard the gates (access control), and trust everything inside. It's centralized. Blockchain-based security throws out the castle model. There's no central gatekeeper; trust is distributed across the network via consensus. Security comes from cryptographic proofs and immutable records, not from hiding behind a perimeter. It assumes no single point can or should be fully trusted.
