How can I clean up and correct errors in my bibliometric profile on Google Scholar, Scopus, or ORCID?

My Google Scholar profile merges my papers with another researcher with a similar name, and Scopus has missed some of my publications. How do I fix these errors? Is it worth the effort to maintain clean profiles across all these systems?

Yes, it's crucial effort—your profile is your digital CV. Follow this process: 1) Start with ORCID: Make an ORCID iD and use it when submitting papers. Manually add all your publications there; it's your authoritative source. 2) Google Scholar: In your profile settings, you can merge or delete entries. Be meticulous—remove others' work, add missing items. 3) Scopus: Go to the Scopus Author Feedback Wizard. You can request corrections, merges, or splits of author profiles. Provide publication lists as evidence. 4) Web of Science: Use their ResearcherID (now integrated with Publons) to curate. Link everything to your ORCID. Set a calendar reminder to audit profiles annually. A clean profile ensures accurate metrics, proper attribution, and makes you more discoverable to collaborators and committees. It's a foundational task for a modern scholar.
