How will you define and locate your ideal participant, and what realistic recruitment pathway will you use to reach them?
The success of my study hinges on reaching the right people. I need to move from a vague idea of "someone with experience in X" to a precise, defensible inclusion criteria. Then, I'm faced with the practical challenge: where do these people congregate, physically or virtually, and what's the most ethical and effective way to approach them?

First, define "ideal" operationally: list the specific experiences, knowledge, or demographics essential to your research question. I would recommend creating a brief screening tool based on this. For recruitment, I’ve found that the most realistic pathway is multi-pronged. Identify key organizations, online forums, or professional networks where your participants exist. Then, use a trusted intermediary a community leader, a professional association, or a relevant social media group admin to endorse and share your call. This layered approach builds credibility and targets effort efficiently.
