Is there established sociological or anthropological research on the Gond community in Central India?

I am exploring tribal communities in India from a sociological perspective. The Gond community appears frequently in discussions of indigeneity and development.I want to know how extensively this group has been studied academically.

From my experience working with Indian anthropological literature, the Gond community has been studied quite extensively. I have seen detailed ethnographies on kinship, religious practices, forest-based livelihoods, and political marginalization. Sociologists have also examined how state policies, mining, and development interventions reshape Gond identity and social organization. I would recommend combining classical anthropological accounts with more recent policy-oriented studies to understand both cultural continuity and structural change.
