Steps to conduct quantitative data analysis

My research process requires data analysis using quantitative data analysis method. I tried analysing the data using this method and failed miserably. I guess I have missed some important step. I need some help with procedure that needs to be followed to conduct quantitative data analysis process.

There are three steps that needs to be followed to conduct quantitative data analysis method. Preparing the data – To prepare the data, firstly validate the data, next edit the data and finally code the data. Data tabulation – Once the data is prepared, put all the data in table, which is known as data tabulation. Analysing the data – Analyse the data either using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics.
