What are the biggest roadblocks for getting a new, innovative startup off the ground?

Everyone has a startup idea, but very few succeed. Beyond just "having a good idea," what are the most common and critical barriers that innovative startups face from day one?

The hurdles are massive and sequential. First, securing initial funding is the giant wall—convincing angels or VCs to take a risk on you. Then comes navigating complex regulations, breaking into a crowded market, and finding skilled talent you can afford. Finally, the challenge of scaling operations efficiently hits. While support varies by location, the lack of early-stage risk capital and a culture that celebrates entrepreneurship (not just success) are often the most decisive constraints.
