Where can I find reliable astronomy and astrophysics resources online?
I'm a first-year PhD student trying to build a reliable toolkit beyond Google and Wikipedia. I need trusted starting points for finding data archives, software, preprint servers, and community forums. A single, well-maintained portal that links to major observatories, data centers, and educational material would be an invaluable springboard for me right now.

I completely understand the feeling. I would recommend starting with two pillars. First, for literature, live in the NASA Astrophysics Data System (ADS). It's the definitive search engine for papers, and its linked references and citations are irreplaceable. Second, bookmark the Space Telescope Science Institute's (STScI) MAST portal as your data hub; it provides unified access to data from Hubble, JWST, Kepler, and many others. For staying current and getting community advice, I have found the Astrobetter blog and forum invaluable for practical tips on coding, jobs, and software that you won't find in formal journals.
