Which research studies have used Bourdieu’s ideas to analyze literacy and education?

I am interested in how literacy is shaped by social structure rather than individual ability.Bourdieu’s concepts seem influential, but I want clarity on how scholars actually use them. This would help frame my own sociological analysis of education.

From my experience reviewing this literature, many literacy studies draw on Bourdieu to show how reading and writing practices are socially patterned rather than neutral skills. I have seen research in schools and adult education contexts where habitus explains comfort with dominant language forms, while cultural capital accounts for unequal academic recognition. I would recommend looking at ethnographic and critical education studies, as they tend to use Bourdieu most effectively to connect literacy, power, and class reproduction.
