How are a green economy and sustainable development conceptually and practically related?
I am studying sustainability frameworks and want to understand how the green economy concept fits within sustainable development. I am particularly interested in how their goals align or differ in practice and policy.

From my experience, the green economy is best understood as a pathway within sustainable development rather than a replacement for it. I have seen that green economy initiatives focus primarily on environmental and economic dimensions, such as clean energy and green jobs. Sustainable development goes further by explicitly integrating social equity and long-term resilience. I would recommend treating the green economy as an operational strategy that helps translate the broader goals of sustainable development into measurable economic actions.
