What would change if we measured Gross Domestic Leisure instead of GDP?
I am interested in alternative measures of economic progress and want to explore what policy priorities and societal outcomes might change if leisure and well-being were measured instead of pure economic output.

From my experience, measuring Gross Domestic Leisure would significantly shift how we define progress. I have seen that GDP overlooks unpaid work, leisure, and mental well-being, which are central to quality of life. I would recommend viewing such indicators as complements rather than replacements for GDP. If taken seriously, they would encourage policies that prioritize work-life balance, public services, and social cohesion, offering a more human-centered perspective on sustainable development and economic success.
