How can we evaluate whether sustainability is genuinely promoted and internalized within an educational curriculum?
Many curricula claim to address sustainability. I’m interested in understanding how we can evaluate whether it goes beyond policy language into actual learning. This question is important for curriculum evaluation and education for sustainable development.

From my experience, sustainability is best evaluated through practice rather than statements. I have seen curricula claim sustainability while assessments and pedagogy ignore it. I would recommend examining learning outcomes, teaching methods, student projects, and institutional practices together. When students demonstrate systems thinking, ethical reasoning, and real-world action, sustainability is being imbibed. Otherwise, it remains symbolic rather than transformative.
