What distinguishes environmental education from green education?

I am examining educational approaches for sustainability and want to understand the distinction between environmental education, which focuses on awareness and knowledge, and green education, which emphasizes practical application and behavioral change toward sustainability. This helps in curriculum development and research in education for sustainability.

From my experience, environmental education primarily focuses on raising awareness about ecological issues, such as pollution, climate change, and conservation. I have seen that green education goes a step further, emphasizing practical skills, behavioral changes, and actions that contribute to sustainability in daily life or professional practice. I would recommend integrating hands-on projects, renewable resource management, and lifestyle interventions to bridge knowledge with practice. By distinguishing between awareness and action, educators can create programs that not only inform students about environmental challenges but also equip them to actively contribute to sustainable solutions.
