How does green technology affect economic growth, and how do eco-friendly, going green, and sustainability differ?

I am studying sustainability discourse and want to understand how green technology influences economic growth. I also want clarity on how commonly used terms like eco-friendly, going green, and sustainability differ in meaning and application.

From my experience, green technology can support growth by improving efficiency, reducing long-term costs, and opening new markets. I have seen firms become more competitive through clean innovation rather than constrained by it. Eco-friendly usually refers to specific products or actions, while going green describes a transition process. Sustainability, however, is broader and systemic, balancing environmental, social, and economic dimensions. I would recommend using these terms carefully, as confusing them often leads to fragmented strategies rather than coherent sustainable development efforts.
