How should research results be presented within a literature review chapter?

Literature reviews synthesize existing studies rather than original findings. However, results from prior research still need to be discussed.I want clarity on appropriate structure and emphasis.

From my experience reviewing theses, results do not appear as standalone findings in a literature review. I have seen strong reviews present results indirectly by synthesizing patterns, agreements, and contradictions across studies. I would recommend focusing on trends and debates rather than individual outcomes. The goal is to show what the field collectively demonstrates, where conclusions remain uncertain, and how this shapes the need for your own research.
