How should social capital be conceptually understood within sociology?
 Social capital is widely referenced in sociological literature.However, its meanings seem to vary across theoretical traditions.I want a clearer conceptual grounding for its use in research.

From my experience teaching sociological theory, social capital is best understood as the resources that flow through social relationships rather than as an individual possession. I have seen scholars emphasize different aspects—networks, trust, or norms—depending on their theoretical orientation. I would recommend being explicit about which tradition you draw from, because clarity in definition strengthens both empirical analysis and theoretical coherence.
