In my study, I used the mixed method because my study focused on quantity. But, as your data is qualitative, then, you can use purposive sampling easily. On the other hand, a decision of the respondents would be better if you could consult a senior or an expert.

For purposive sampling, you need to have a clear purpose behind the study. You must have a clear explanation for everything you are using in your study, If you want to use purposive sampling. Your study should have set goals.

I would recommend you to read from John Creswell’s book titled Research Design: Qualitative, Quantitative, and Mixed Methods Approaches, 4th Edition. The book is perfect, and it has all the types of discussions and debates on the sampling method.

In purpose sampling, there is already pre-decided sampling procedure. If, it is confirmed in your study, then, you can use purposive sampling.

If the data collected in your study is qualitative, then, instead of using any other sampling method, you must use purposive sampling. I think using purposive sampling is the right decision.
