Please tell me some of the methods and tools used to analyse open-ended responses. Anyone of you has any experience of this kind?

One of the softwares is NVivo 10, and it is used for windows. It helps you to organise and analyse data in documents, and spreadsheets easily. It gives quick answers, and justify findings and make informed decisions.

Yes, NVivo could be one of the softwares, and another software is LIWC, which has a lot of research support and is widely used. I am attaching a link for your reference: http://www.liwc.net/
