Three-level inverter-fed induction drives offer significant advantages over conventional two-level systems. They produce higher-quality output waveforms with lower total harmonic distortion (THD), which reduces motor insulation stress and acoustic noise. Additionally, these inverters operate with lower switching losses and support higher voltage and power ratings. Because of these benefits, three-level inverter drives are particularly well suited for medium-voltage, high-power industrial applications such as pumps, compressors, and large process drives.
