Based on my colleagues' career paths, opportunities are vibrant and expanding. In industry, I’ve seen roles dedicated to designing sustainable manufacturing processes in pharmaceuticals, polymers, and consumer goods. Major chemical and petrochemical companies now have teams focused on solvent replacement and waste reduction. Furthermore, careers in environmental consulting and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting are growing rapidly. I would also recommend looking at government agencies and NGOs focused on chemical policy, where expertise in green alternatives is crucial for shaping regulations and sustainable innovation grants.
