From my experience, 3D printing is best suited for products requiring high customization, complex geometries, or low-volume production. I have seen it work particularly well for prototypes, medical devices, aerospace components, and tooling. I would recommend additive manufacturing when design flexibility and speed matter more than unit cost. For mass production of simple parts, traditional manufacturing still dominates, but 3D printing excels where conventional methods reach their limits.
