I am in the 2nd year of my PhD, and the thing which is confusing me is which methodology should I choose. Should I choose a qualitative, quantitative or mixed method? On what basis we choose a methodology? Please help me.

There is no particular method or procedure to choose the research methodology. It is selected from your research question and hypothesis.

I am in support of what Piyush said above. A methodology should is selected from what you want to achieve, or the research questions etc.

First explore the kind of problems, objectives, and research questions your study is dealing with, and then choose the methodology accordingly. I prefer the mix method as it allows me to have the benefit of both the methods.

According to me, research methodology depends on the aims & objective of a research. Results are likely to be more accurate if your methodology is designed in reproducible formats.
