Research methods

My research field is geography. Which research methodology should I follow? Please suggest the effective one.

Nadeemji, sampling design is not a research methodology. It is basically a part of exploratory research. Exploratory method can be used to determine, eg: to identify factors that influence shale gas in India.

According to me when it comes to research methodology, it always descriptive, exploratory, quantitative, qualitative, conceptual, and theoretical methods. Sampling method, observational method etc are conducted within the particular research methodology.
