Additive manufacturing role in the biofertilizer industry

Can additive manufacturing (3D printing) play a useful role in the biofertilizer industry?

Yes—but not by printing the biofertilizer itself. Additive manufacturing is most useful for custom equipment, such as bioreactor parts and fluid manifolds, tooling like molds for encapsulation or pelletization, and soil science tools for testing or controlled nutrient delivery. Its real value is in rapidly developing specialized, low-volume hardware for R&D and production.
