AMF (Additive Manufacturing Format) is an open ASTM/ISO standard that supports advanced features like multi-material parts, color, and graded structures. 3MF (3D Manufacturing Format) is a newer, XML-based format designed to be complete and error-free, with strong industry backing. While both are capable, 3MF is generally preferred due to wider software and hardware adoption and its ability to store all print data reliably in a single file.
