A “green engine” is a broad term referring to energy-efficient, low-emission engine technologies designed to reduce environmental impact. Traditional internal combustion engines typically achieve only about 20–30% thermal efficiency. In contrast, advanced green engines—such as hybrid powertrains, hydrogen fuel cells, and highly optimized electric or hybrid systems—can reach efficiencies of 40–60% or even higher. Their advantage lies in improved energy conversion and significantly lower emissions, making them central to sustainable transportation and energy systems.
