What could be the next major revolution in biology?

I'm trying to look beyond incremental advances in genomics or tools like CRISPR. As someone immersed in systems biology, I'm curious about what could fundamentally reshape our core conceptual frameworks. What nascent idea today might become the central dogma of tomorrow?

Based on the trajectory I've seen, I would recommend looking closely at the integration of predictive, quantitative models into every facet of the discipline. We're moving from a descriptive to a truly predictive biology. The next revolution won't be just a new tool, but a new way of thinking: a "Physics-like" framework where we can mathematically model and accurately forecast the behavior of complex biological systems from cells to ecosystems. This shift from observing to predicting will redefine all sub-fields.
