What does the concept of bushfire eco-resilience mean in environmental planning?

I am studying climate adaptation and landscape management and want to understand what bushfire eco-resilience entails. I am particularly interested in how ecosystems and human settlements adapt to recurring fire risks without long-term degradation.

From my experience, bushfire eco-resilience refers to the ability of ecosystems and communities to absorb fire events, recover, and continue functioning without long-term collapse. I have seen fire-adapted landscapes regenerate effectively when biodiversity, soil health, and natural fire cycles are respected. I would recommend shifting from fire suppression alone toward adaptive land management, controlled burns, and resilient settlement planning. Eco-resilience emphasizes living with fire as an ecological process rather than treating it solely as a disaster to be eliminated.
