What is Kendall’s Tau test?

I’m asked to use non-parametric test known as Kendall’s Tau for performing the statistical analysis. I have no clue about this test. Please guide me on the same.

Madhu, Kendall’s Tau is similar to Spearman coefficient test. The difference between the two tests is that Kendall’s Tau has smaller values when compared to Spearman coefficient test. Also, the calculations are based on the ranks of collected data.

Pooja is right. Kendall’s Tau has smaller value when compared to that of Spearman test. Some of the advantages of using this test is that it has better statistical properties, the interpretation of Kendall’s terms is direct.

Kendall’s Tau measures relationship between columns of data ranked. The Kendall’s Tau coefficient returns a value 1 to 0.
