What level of involvement should students and community members have in curriculum development?
I am exploring curriculum as a socially embedded process rather than a purely technical one.Students and community members bring lived experience and contextual knowledge. This question examines appropriate forms and limits of such participation.

From my experience with community?based education initiatives, I believe students and community members should play a consultative and co?creative role in curriculum development. Their involvement helps ensure relevance, cultural responsiveness, and real?world applicability. I have seen success when student feedback informs curriculum review and community representatives contribute local knowledge or industry perspectives. That said, pedagogical coherence remains the responsibility of educators. The goal is meaningful participation, not tokenism or loss of academic rigor.
