Conceptual Framework for Research

I am doing my Ph.D. in Literature on one of the contemporary writers by applying reader-response theory. In my study, I have been told to add a conceptual framework. My study is based on books, journals, research papers, review papers, etc and primary sources will be the selected novels of a particular writer. I don't know how a conceptual framework is made and what should I do with it?

A conceptual framework is made after the literature review chapter and is based on the objectives of the study. Since, the study is qualitative in nature and will collect secondary data but you can add a conceptual framework. You can mention the different reader response theories of Iser, Rosenblatt, Bleich etc and its impact on the novels of the writer that you have chosen. This will basically reveal the impact of the selected literary theories on the selected novels.  Make sure all those theories are explained and analysed in a detailed manner in your research. I hope this helps!!!
