Hello, I have just completed my masters in machine design and i am willing to persue my PhD in the same area, i wanted to know what are the important steps which has to be considered for planning the initial design to propose a PhD pre-project presentation?

At first always initial design has to planned as per the application where the design will be implimented. After which, the stress levels has to be roughly estimated and according to it material has to be selected which can sustain those stress levels.
