Does a green economy lead to a low-carbon economy, and how do ‘sustainable’ and ‘green’ development differ?
I am exploring environmental economic models and want to know if a green economy automatically results in low-carbon outcomes. I also want to understand how sustainable development differs conceptually and practically from green development in terms of policy, economy, and environmental impact.

From my experience, a green economy can contribute to a low-carbon economy but does not guarantee it. I have seen that some green initiatives focus on resource efficiency or biodiversity without directly cutting emissions. I would recommend distinguishing green development, which emphasizes eco-friendly practices, from sustainable development, which balances environmental, social, and economic objectives. Policies integrating carbon reduction targets, renewable energy adoption, and circular economy principles are essential to ensure that green economic growth also achieves measurable low-carbon outcomes.
