Is a green economy possible without markets for green goods?
I am studying green economic development and want to understand whether markets for green goods are essential. I aim to explore whether policy, innovation, or societal shifts alone can drive a sustainable economy in the absence of established market demand.

From my experience, a green economy is difficult to sustain without markets for green goods, as demand drives production, innovation, and investment. I have seen that policies, subsidies, and incentives can partially compensate, but market participation ensures scalability and economic viability. I would recommend combining regulatory frameworks with consumer awareness campaigns and business innovation to create both supply and demand. In essence, markets for green goods provide the necessary economic signals to support sustainable growth, complementing policies and technological initiatives.
