Focus group discussion vs individual interview

In focus group discussion, the mode of conducting the survey is semi-structure. Whereas in individual interview it ranges from semi-structured to unstructured.

There isn’t much of a difference. Both the method use well-structured and planned strategies. The only difference is the semi-structured mode of operation in focus group discussion and unstructured in individual interviews.

Focus group discussion involves natural and expert groups. Natural groups includes multiple participants belonging to formal group. Expert group consists of several people having wide knowledge about the subject.
