How do I format the title page for a PhD synopsis submission?
I'm preparing the title page. What information is mandatory? Should it include keywords, the department name, the degree name (Ph.D.), and the submission date? Is there a standard centered layout?

A professional title page is non-negotiable. It typically follows a centered, hierarchical layout and must include:
- Full Title of the Research (in a large, bold font)
- "A Synopsis Submitted for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)"Â or similar phrasing
- Your Full Name
- Department/School Name
- University Name
- Name(s) of Supervisor(s)Â ("Under the guidance of...")
- Month and Year of Submission
Do not include keywords, your student ID, or abstracts on this page. Its purpose is clear, formal identification. Always check if your department provides a specific template. This page creates the first impression of your meticulousness. Use consistent, formal fonts (Times New Roman or Arial) and ample white space.
