How to do analysis of English novels?

My research is in Literature. I am working on some select novels of authors of the early 20th century. My guide has told me to do analysis of the novel. She hasn’t been very supportive in answering my doubts or in providing me any help. And, I have literally no idea on the techniques that can be used for this. I just know that it would be qualitative analysis, that’s all. Can someone pls throw some light on his? I am really anxious as I have no clue how to go further.

I know that it gets really difficult if the guide is not very forthcoming. I have been in your situation and though my area is not in Literature, but I can sympathize with you. I just found this on internet, and thought of sharing it with you. Hope this gives you some idea.  https://ndla.no/en/node/13288?fag=42

Hi,   Like the previous contributor, even my expertise is not in Literature. However, I did find a sample thesis online. You can probably go through it and have a look at how two novels have been compared, and what different techniques have been used for qualitative analysis. http://repository.out.ac.tz/593/1/FIDAS_CRISPIN_MARIJANI-THESIS.pdf
