How to write a concept paper for funding?

Hi all. I have researched a lot on internet about the ways through which I can write a commendable concept paper that will easily get me the funding. But there is no strategy or technique that pinpoints the main problem I’m facing right now. All the articles and blogs brag much about categorising the research ideas and plan as per various concept paper modules, but the problem is that I can’t define what should go in the introduction section, and what should go in the project description. If to say one, should I state the research problem in introduction section or the project description? What emphasised information would the funding agency like to get acknowledged of?

Let me clear one thing, the research problem is never described in the introduction of your concept paper. An introduction is meant to fill the inadequate communication between the funder and the applicant. You must mention the reasons why your research project deserves grant funds. You must state your research problem in the purpose (rationale) section of your concept paper. Also for a commendable concept paper, your writing must be commendable too. Not to forget, your concept paper must reflect your confident attitude regarding your research plan, and this deserves funding as an appreciation.

I think it would be a good idea if anyone can exemplify that thing with a general outline. I’m from Wright State University, and here I’m sharing the format followed by us here

Hey! I’m a post-doc researcher and have written many concept papers. Can you please tell if you are writing the concept paper to obtain the grant from university or some organisation? Because then it would be easier for us to help you out with the problem. You see, universities and the organisations follow different norms for concept papers. Anyways, for the sake of answering your question, here is how it goes for the organisations: • Proposed Project Title • Geographic Coverage • Target Beneficiaries • Proposed Partners • Project Timeframe • Requested Budget • Project Description: In this, you are required to define the research problem and sufficient background information highlighting its need. The expected outcomes of yours can be described here only. Now regarding the introduction, you must mention what contributions your proposed research would make if granted the funding.
