Is it appropriate for the guides or supervisor to use the students' ideas and insights for their publications?

I need to know whether the research supervisor can use or copy the student's research or Ph.D. researchers' ideas for their publications without citing them.

Hi Diana, No one can steal your ideas if it gets published on another platform. There is a chance that they can modify your conceptual ideas and publish them. However, the guide or supervisor cannot steal your ideas.

It is mandatory for the publishers that their research content should follow specific rules before publishing the content. If the research content is plagiarized or fails to reach the criteria, then there is a big chance that your publication will get rejected; therefore, if your research content is already published, you don't have to worry about whether the content will be copied.

Dear Diana, If anyone or the supervisor uses your research methodology, it is mandatory to cite your name. If you are not cited, then you have the full right to ask or report regarding it.
