If you are aware of Python then go with it. Why do you want to try a new tool and mess up your study.
Python contains a huge set of standard library. This library focuses on modules for OS specific, general programming, networking, threading, and databases.

Either go with Python or R language will also do. But programming in R is a little difficult.
R can run statistical analysis and output graphics. It is free and open-source statistical software.

You shouldn’t have any confusion in choosing the software when you have Matlab. It is the ultimate tool.
Matlab is most highly regarded not only as a numerical computing, but also as a programming language.
Matlab has a standard library and uses include matrix algebra, a network for data processing and plotting.
It also consists of toolkits if required but are a little expensive.
