No, meta-analysis and cumulative meta-analysis is not the same.
In the cumulative meta-analysis, the studies are added simultaneously in the specified order.

Cumulative meta analysis provides existing evidence that helped researchers to proceed with the study. 
This type of study is used to analyse the design of new studies and the need for the design of the new studies.
