Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) produces magnetic field (stronger than that of Earth’s magnetic field) and sends radio waves into the human body. The tissues in the human body receives the radio waves and emits lower-energy waves to MRI and produces an image. The quality of the image depends on the signal-to-noise ratio. However, if the meta-material is placed beside the body part under the scan, then an improved image can be definitely obtained. The meta-materials boost the emitted energy and improves the quality of the image.

Hello, meta-material boosts the emitted energy and enhances the quality of the image. A recent advancement has taken place in this field. Scientists have developed ‘intelligent meta-material’ that selectively works on the emitted energy and improves the quality of MRI output. The intelligent meta-material includes a group of metallic helical resonators that are closely packed. The meta-material detects the high-energy radio wave and turns off the resonance automatically.
