Pursuing Doctoral Research Outside Your Majors

Hello there buddies. I’m asking all of you to help me in settling on the most critical choice of my career. I have done my graduation, and post graduation in political science. In my masters, I have read a little bit about international relations and now, I want to do my research on this topic only. Will it be alright to choose such a topic now? I’m anxious in case I’m taking the correct decision or not. Suggest me something, please.

I don’t agree, that it’s a great idea. Initially, you will find it interesting but after some time you would feel that you should have worked on the area which you have been continuously studying because I think you would lose your way and would find major problems while working on it.

Yes, I think your research should be in the field which interests you and it seems like you are very much into this topic so, I think it would be great if you would work on this topic. Also, it won’t be a problem as you have already studied in your masters. Go ahead all the best.

I know it’s a tough decision but I think you should sit back and think about it patiently. Also, I would suggest you to search online for the papers related to your research area and collect each and every information related to it, analyse it and then take your decision
