You can go for it. Power electronics has a good scope. It is used in various industries such as In energetics sector: Equipment for classical power plants, wind plants,, etc uses power electronics. Telecommunication sector: DC power sources, battery charging installations, guided radio antennas use power electronics. It is also used in medical, industrial sector etc.

Vishwas, you can choose a topic that is based onPWM converter or power supplies associated with renewable energy. Some research has already been conducted in these fields. Go through them. You will get a better idea.
