Software for statistical analysis of quantitative secondary data?

My research topic is related to stock markets. I am using secondary data from the year 1990. Now, the amount of data is too much for me to handle. I have knowledge of only Excel and SPSS, and while doing data analysis using Excel is not feasible. And, if I am trying to do this on SPSS, my entire system is hanging up. I have tried it multiple times & I am not reaching anywhere. Can someone suggest me other software that might be easier to use and benefit me in future? I am really interested to explore something new and learn it.

Hello there.. Though my research area is not into finance or stock markets, while I was doing statistical analysis, I made use of SPSS,  because this was what my guide suggested me to use. And, he was helpful enough to teach me the specific tests that were required. Initially while I was researching during my work, I found this link where a list of software for Statistical Analysis was given. You can probably use this for reference, however I wouldn’t vouch on it as I haven’t even heard most of the names. https://www.capterra.com/statistical-analysis-software/

Find below a list of software that are used widely now, and might benefit you not just in your research but in your career as well. Though I am not entirely sure what kind of study you are conducting related to stock markets and which data you would be using. In any case, if you are going for analysis of any kind of time series data, these software should serve the purpose R STATA Matlab Python RATS GRETL RapidMiner Octave I have personally worked on STATA and I can assure that the current issue that you are facing with the slowing down of your system, that will be substantially taken care of & it can handle a larger volume of data compared to SPSS.
