What exactly is action research?

Action research is inquiry in the context of focused efforts to enhance the teaching and learning process. 
 This process includes 7 stages such as selecting a focus, theory clarification, identifying the research questions, 
 data collection, data analysis, result reporting and taking informed action.

1. Focus selection – Focus selection starts with researchers or the team researchers questioning what elements of the practice do you wish to investigate.
2. Theory clarification – This includes identifying the beliefs, values, and theoretical perspectives relating to the focus of the researcher.
3.Identification of research questions – Generate set of meaningful research questions to guide the inquiry.
4. Data collection – As the name suggest this steps includes collection of data.
5. Data analysis – This steps involves statistical calculations
6. Reporting the results – The key findings of the analysis is reported.
7. Action – Necessary action for the improvement of the learning performance is taken.
