Accurate results

Dissertation

Hi, I am presently pursuing my PhD in civil and researching on self-compacting concrete materials. I am confused whether to perform software analysis or to perform experimental work. In this case, time is not an issue, but my university wants the accurate results. Can anyone suggest me over this?

Primarily in civil research works, as a thumb rule, one must perform an experimental type of analysis as most of the civil projects are related to strength analysis. In the experimental study, the actual strength of the materials can be found out. In software analysis, only a rough estimation can be done which can only serve as an initial verification/prediction purpose.
