Faculty advisor


As soon I enrolled in a PhD program my university assigned me a faculty advisor, and since then we have never communicated with each other as I don’t know what is the role of a faculty advisor? When should I approach him? Will he help me with my research?

Roles of a faculty advisor: To be an active representative for the student assigned to him. To encourage openness, honesty, and commitment by maintaining regular communication with executive board members, and with the students. To help the student in every way he can.
