Heat dissipation value

Hello, I am pursuing 1st year PhD and doing a research work in heat exchangers. My question is can we predict the heat dissipation value of a heat exchanger? If yes, then how?

For prediction of heat dissipation in heat exchangers, Matlab software can be used as a useful tool. In Matlab software, you have to simulate a mathematical model of the heat exchanger, and you have to choose from different algorithm to predict the value efficiently.
